Yet another Budapest flea market purchase.
Given that the other films of the same shooter has mainly shot
1, events and tours (for example, the Kalevala one: https://youtu.be/MtWBiHdZ1JY ) and
2, the leaders (most importantly, the musical leader Imre Prokópius (see for example https://youtu.be/EZj25PyRC68 ; note that he is also featured in another 1972 "Jászberény" film I've already scanned))
of the theater, I assume this, in many cases, highly playful* film also shows the Thalia theater folks. This time they visited the "9th Song Celebration" of North-Hungarian historic town Eger.
Speaking of being historic, starting at 02:43, the Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Apostle ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cathedral_Basilica_of_Eger ) is to be seen. Finally, starting at 05:22, the Géza Gárdonyi Theater is shown with, among other things, singers inside. These don't seem to be conducted by Imre Prokópius in this case (see 05:38).
Note: the pages of Géza Gárdonyi Theater ( https://www.gardonyiszinhaz.hu ) do have an archive ( https://www.gardonyiszinhaz.hu/korabbi-eloadasok/ ) but, unfortunately, it only goes back to 2011 so I couldn't find any information on this 1972 event.
Note: https://gyakorlo.uni-eszterhazy.hu/hu/hirek/egri-dalosunnep , which does have an article of the 2018 festival, has no archives of previous Hungarian Singing Festivals either.
Also note that the roll also had some fully unrelated shots at the very beginning; I've kept it for historical purposes. The Theater's part starts at 00:40.
Note: I'm not entirely sure it's year 1972. It may also be 1970 or 1971, but surely not later.
