No SATA-USB or ThunderBolt No problem =D
The process could take a while so keep that in mind.
Equipment:
External Storage (that you can plug into Mac that has Nothing on it and enough space for your data)
Your Mac
1. Recovery Mode: Hold ⌘R turn on Mac and continue holding ⌘R
2. Go to Disk Utility
3. File - New Image - Image from Folder... OR ⇧⌘N
4. Select the scope that you want to backup (whole disk, a single directory, etc.)
5. Select empty and clean external backup under 'Where' image away!
6. Eject yada yada just watch the video it's less than 4 minutes!
