Tom a texasi marhabárók által uralt földön igyekszik megélni a maga birtokán legeltetve szerény csordáját. A mindennapos marhalopások miatt felbéreli régi ismerősét, a messze földön hírhedt Kid Wichitát, hogy védje meg a marháit, ám a gátlástalan revolverhős éjszakai rajtaütései során egyre messzebb merészkedik az igazságtétellel.
