Donald Trump and his legal team have decided on a strategy based on resentment and uncontrolled hostility as the former president gets ready to testify in the civil fraud trial that has the potential to demolish his corporate empire. Two people with knowledge of the situation and one briefed on Team Trump's legal tactics claim that the former president and his attorneys are purposefully attempting to set off a chain reaction in the court that would cause a nuclear-level overreaction. The judge might even order Trump to be remanded to a jail cell for the duration of the response if they are invited to that kind of behavior. Trump was already under a gag order issued by the court in the case, instructing him not to make any more assaults on the judge's staff. The injunction was amended late last week to include Trump's legal representatives as well. Even so, Trump has consistently demonstrated a shameless readiness to break it. As odd as it may sound, Trump's lawyers and political advisors have advised the former president that a "remand order" placing him in jail for persistently disobeying the judge's decisions might be advantageous for him politically and legally.
