Inferno lakóinak egy hősre van szükségük, aki leszámol a várost rettegésben tartó, egymással is háborúskodó két családdal. A maghasonlott zsoldos, Eddie Lomax (Jean-Claude Van Damme) úgy érzi, számára már nincs jövő, de még utoljára hajlandó jót tenni. A terv kezdetben remekül működik, a két családot sikeresen egymásnak ugrasztja. Csakhogy nem számol a gyönyörű Rhondával (Gabrielle Fitzpatrick), aki két tűz közé kerül, ráadásul beleszeret Lomaxba.
