This film is largely based on real events:
Well-meaning but vulnerable Punjabi senior Jagtar, visits Canada to support her daughter during a particularly difficult transition time. Jagtar is very lonely and culturally alienated, however her warm Punjabi soul prevails through the darkness.
This story was told primarily out of respect for the many, many elderly people who have experienced challenging cultural shifts in their lives to support their loved ones.
