'Just a smile or a wave of the hand': Mastercard launches Biometric Checkout Program

Sky News Business Reporter Edward Boyd says being able to pay by “using your face” or scanning a fingerprint has become a reality in Brazil.

“To pay at the checkout, customers simply look at the terminal, which scans their face, using facial recognition software, or place their finger on the fingerprint scanner,” Mr Boyd said.

“No pin, no tap-and-go, just a smile or a wave of the hand.”
