Shadow Assistant Regional Health Minister Anne Webster says Labor’s new fresh food tax will be “dipping into the piggy bank” of Australian farmers.
Ms Webster said the Labor government have given “no indication” of how the funding will be spent.
“It is another levy,” she told Sky News Australia.
“It’s another dipping into what Labor have come to see as the piggybank of farmers across Australia.
“The Nationals approach has been that we should have a levy on every container that comes into Australia.
“That means that those who are bringing the risk therefore pay the dollars to be able to manage that risk.”
