This weekend’s Portland Spring Home & Garden Show is quite the juxtaposition to the freezing temperatures outside. Garden and outdoor living displays are sprinkled throughout the Portland Expo Center.
“Lots of garden displays that give you inspiration and ideas for things you can do in your own house. As well as meet the professionals who can actually hire to make that happen for you,” said Ara Hirst with the HBA of Greater Portland. Hirst encourages folks who are interested in coming to the show to be safe on the roads.
Hot tubs, handmade goods, and home remodeling vendors are among the booths at the show, which runs through the weekend. Tickets can be purchased online at https://www.homeshowpdx.com/ or at the Expo Center box office.
Thursday’s hours were shortened due to inclement weather, but David Hillesland of All Natural Edge Designs noticed an increase in people on Friday afternoon.
“Yesterday it took us a little while but today it was easy driving in roads are fully open. So I encourage people to come on out to the show,” he said.
Hillesland is a custom woodworker and chainsaw carver based in Lyons, OR. Some of his work is featured on his YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6WpXfyMeh6ERwZ9Sjyx9rw .
The Portland Spring Home & Garden Show run through Sunday, hours are 10am-7pm.
