There are a TON of American Express credit cards available today, some of the best and most known are:
- Amex Platinum Card
- Amex Gold Card
- Amex Green Card
- Amex Blue Cash Preferred Card
- Amex Blue Cash Everyday Card
- Amex Everyday Credit Card
- Amex Everyday Preferred Credit Card
- Amex Cash Magnet Card
- Amex Blue Business Plus Card

Despite all of the great Amex cards today, my FIRST Amex card is actually no longer available (it was discontinued a number of years ago).

It was called the Blue Sky from American Express Card.

Here’s some information about it!

Welcome Bonus
- Usually the card had no signup bonus, but occasionally you could earn 7,500 bonus points after spending $1,000 in the first 3 months. The value of those points was $100 towards travel purchases as a statement credit.

Rewards - Earning
- Earn 1 point per dollar spent, that’s it!

Rewards - Redeeming
- There were a variety of different redemption options. The highest value option was for travel via statement credit, where 7,500 points = $100 (i.e. 1.33¢ per point). Other options included gift cards, merchandise, and cash back, all of which were a lower value, often between 0.72¢ – 0.77¢ per point. You also had to redeem in 7,500-point increments and do so within 6 billing cycles of the charge(s) posting to your account. Furthermore, you could not convert the rewards into Amex Membership Rewards points, or vice versa.

Annual Fee
- None

Foreign Transaction Fees
- Yes, 2.7%

Insurance, Protections & Other Benefits
- Car rental loss and damage insurance
- Access to the Global Assist hotline
- Roadside Assistance
- Travel accident insurance
- Extended warranty protection
- Return protection
- Purchase protection
- Free 2-day shipping at selected merchants through ShopRunner
