Superfast Cornwall: Inside a BT fibre broadband cabinet

Dr. Ranulf Scarbrough, Director of Superfast Cornwall takes us through the installation process and the challenges BT's engineers have faced when bringing FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet) broadband to the Cornish peninsula.

BT's work here mirrors its efforts elsewhere in the UK, where it's currently trialling an FTTP On Demand platform, whereby the 'last mile' of an FTTC connection - the copper line - will be replaced with fibre, turning it into a 'true' fibre broadband service.
