The Power of Reframing Exercise as Self-Care | Mike Stanlaw | TEDxBayonne

Did you know that 95% of people do not get the recommended 30 minutes of physical activity daily? This means that this percentage of people are not only neglecting their physical health, but they are also neglecting their mental well being.

In this TEDx Talk, Mike Stanlaw goes into the benefits of re-framing and re-thinking exercise as self-care, which is the primary way we need to view fitness. By taking care of ourselves, we will be better for ourselves and for all of those around us.
Mike Stanlaw is the Owner of Stanlaw Fitness in Bayonne, New Jersey and has been a Personal Trainer since 2008. His motto "Get Your 30" has helped people achieve 30 minutes or more of physical activity every single day to reach their health and fitness goals.

Mike has his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Master's Degree in Social Work, which he combines with his Personal Training Certifications to help people get the greatest mental and physical benefits out of exercise. He loves competitive bodybuilding, and lives in Bayonne with his amazing wife Laura. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
