Movie: “Escape from Iran: The Canadian Caper,” made-for-TV movie, 1981

The movie dramatizes the account of US Embassy staffers that evaded capture after revolutionary Iranian students seized the US Embassy in 1979; where Canadian Embassy staffers, led by Canadian Ambassador Ken Taylor, and at much personal risk; provided shelter and escape for the Americans from Iran. The US Embassy seizure in Iran broke relations between the US/Iran that has lasted to this day.
Many of the faces in this Canadian production may not be familiar with audiences outside of Canada; where having such cast members may lend itself to more of a docudrama feel to it.
