What’s the Difference Between Advertising and Marketing (Q&A pt. 6)

Continuing in our Q and A series from Yohana Rodriguez, marketing intern with Butler Branding, she asks Sean "how would you define marketing in your own words?"

Many people confuse the terms branding, marketing, and advertising. In short, branding is influencing perception about a product, service or organization. Advertising is about increasing awareness (name recognition and getting the word out there). Marketing is about initiating a conversation. There are two primary forms of marketing: inbound and outbound. In this short video, Sean explains the difference.
